This week is all about love. In honor of Valentine’s Day, we’re sharing why we love the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run. It’s not called The Runner’s Rite Of Spring® for nothing!
Show your love and support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals here!
We’d love to hear why you love the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run–tell us in the comments!
Heather Loves The Scenery And Volunteer Opportunities
My favorite thing about the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run is the scenery. You get such a great mini tour of Washington, D.C., which is great for locals and visitors alike. From the Washington Monument to Hains Point, you get the opportunity to see several different sides of the Nation’s Capital.

I also love the volunteer opportunities and the credit union community that comes together for this event to support Credit Unions for Kids and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run does a great job of bringing together elite runners and new runners alike!
Did you know that 2017 volunteers get a guaranteed entry for 2018? Find out more and sign up to be one of the 2,000+ volunteers that are needed to make race weekend run smoothly on the CUCB Volunteer Page here.
Holly Loves The Flat Course And Running By The Monuments
Except for the last part of mile 10 right at the end, the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run has a fairly flat course, and that makes it pretty easy for most people. Also, running through the monuments is so humbling and is a great reminder of why we are able to run freely through this and every other city across America.

Of course, when the cherry blossoms are in bloom, it’s just gorgeous! And that’s why Elizabeth‘s main reason for loving this race is the cherry blossoms!
Adam Loves That It’s A D.C. Tradition With A Competitive Field
Having grown up in this area, I know The Runner’s Rite Of Spring® is a tradition, just as much as the rest of the celebration of the cherry blossoms is for everyone else. We runners just get an extra special 10 mile tour of it all to ourselves.

The Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run also has top competition! From being added to the Professional Road Running Organization (PPRO) circuit this year, to having Meb as an honorary pace leader to break an hour at the 2016 race, to serving as the USA 10 Mile Championships in 2014, the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run is guaranteed to have tons of elite runners to watch and be motivated by some of the world’s best pushing each other.
Sara Loves The Crowd Support And Post-Race Brunch Options
The crowd support at the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run is fantastic. Everyone is already out checking out the cherry blossoms, so there’s never a shortage of people there to cheer you on! But you also get a few miles of quiet along Hains Point to reconnect to your goals.

It’s also the perfect race for a post-run brunch! It’s not as heavy as a marathon, where you just want to go home and shower and rest, and the lighter mileage means it’s a great race for those who are new to running and want to celebrate their accomplishments.
Coco Loves Hearing The National Anthem At The Washington Monument
There’s so much to love about the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile run, but my favorite part is the singing of the National Anthem at the starting line, at the base of the Washington Monument.

I’m always amazed at how silent and respectful the crowd is, and how powerful it is to take a moment to be grateful for the hard-fought freedoms we enjoy in this country before we enjoy running by monuments to some of our most cherished leaders.
Kim Loves All Of The Above And Helping Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals
The scenic course of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run includes many must-see D.C. landmarks with a backdrop of beautiful cherry blossoms. The spectators and volunteers come out in full force for maximum runner support , and the race does so much good for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
